What are the responsibilities and job description for the Drop-In Center Manager position at Mental Health Association in Indian River County?
Job Summary
- Coordinate daily operations of Drop-in Centers, with staff and peers, in accordance with the South East Florida Behavior Health Network contract, DCF and MHA policies and procedures.
- Serve as the primary representative for the Mental Health Association's Drop-in Center in local area.
- Manage petty cash and the charge card purchases, implement all aspects of Drop-in Center operations including, but not limited to, program development, center activities, scheduling, volunteers, facility and equipment management, and contract requirements. Be responsible to ensure adequate coverage is present daily during established program hours. Enforce policies and procedures as outlined by MHA, SEFBHN and the Treasure Cost Food Bank.
- Maintain inventory of all property owned by MHA or SEFBHN on behalf of the Center. Report problems and/or concerns to the Director of Consumer Services.
- Enter Client data into EMR systems and insure any problems with data entry are brought to the Director of Consumer Services prompt attention.
- Ensure all food supplies are stored and rotated according Treasure Coat Food Bank.
- Assume responsibility for all petty cash and Discover card receipts for all routine supply and equipment needs.
- Manage paperwork requirements in timely manner. This shall include: monthly reports, data reports, receipts, incident reports, unduplicated count, inventory reports, membership forms, calendars, member sign-in sheets newsletters incident reports etc. All Center promotional material must be sent to the MHA office for final approval through the PR/Communications Committee of the Board of Directors.
- Maintain all health and safety procedures and ensure a sanitary and safe environment at the Centers. Maintain refrigerator logs.
- Coordinate building repairs, as needed, with Center staff and Director of Consumer Services.
- Provide leadership and guidance to Drop-In Center staff to resolve problems and enhance Center activities and development.
- Manage program assistants, volunteers and members. Assist with hiring, orienting and training program assistants and volunteers. Complete performance appraisals of staff, as required.
- Provide leadership and facilitate consumer involvement and empowerment. Develop and/or maintain a peer council which provides on-going feedback and assistance with the Center development and operations. Delegate responsibilities to members, volunteers and staff in accordance with their skills and abilities.
- Serve as an Advocate to assist members with services they may need. Collaborate with local mental health providers to promote the Center, membership and ensure fair quality treatment for each member.
- Work as a team member with "sister” Drop-in Centers to share accomplishment, enhancements, services, problem solving, etc.
- Attend meetings, internet based training and in-services as required
- Perform any other duties as assigned by the Director of Consumer Services and/or Executive Director.
- Qualifications and Skills
Candidate must be able to manage staff, volunteers, and members. Must be organized and able to work independently. Must have good judgment and problem-solving skills. Able to present program and agency information to community officials, mental health providers, SEFBHN and DCF representatives and prospective members. Must have experience with mental health services and be a consumer of mental health services. Must be capable of responding to and/or providing crisis intervention services. High school diploma required; bachelor's degree and/or some college preferred, CPRS certification preferred or to obtain. Must have knowledge of community resources. Must be able to handle difficult situations presented by drop-in center clients and/or consumers of mental health.

Pay: $16.00 - $17.00 per hour
