MHANJ Administrative Program Coordinator

Job Type: Full time position

Home Base: Primary Locations are in Toms River NJ & Springfield NJ

In person employment opportunity.

*Will require travel to alternate sites of agency weekly.

Salary Range: $65,000-- $75,000 (based on experience)

The MHANJ Administrative Program Coordinator will report directly to the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) of MHANJ. This position will encompass roles and responsibilities deemed appropriate by CAO and Director of Contract Compliance and Administration and include but are not limited to program implementation/development/ enhancement, mental health community education and awareness, assistance in grant writing and submission, assisting in creating staff and supervisor training, data entry, and ensuring quality and effectiveness of programs across the statewide agency.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities to Include:

  • Assist with service compliance with all contracts, levels of service, organizational policies, regulatory standards, and best practices.
  • Assist in developing, implementing, and enhancing recovery-oriented mental health/substance use/co-occurring/human service programs.
  • Work toward systems changes to increase awareness and education and decrease stigma.
  • Assist in monitoring and improving statewide organizational productivity in conjunction with the Director of Contract Compliance and Administration.
  • Work collaboratively with outside agencies/organizations.
  • Provide support, guidance, and direction to county-based program directors and coordinators.
  • Part of the quality assurance team to ensure program compliance, quality, and identify trends for program enhancements.
  • Create and deliver evidence-based mental health/substance use trainings (PowerPoints and Curriculum).
  • Attending and participating in staff meetings, community meetings, training, and events.
  • Any other duties that supervisor(s) deem appropriate.

Skills:

  • Knowledge of New Jersey’s adult Mental Health and/or Addiction System(s).
  • Strength-based leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate individuals.
  • Strong program strategic planning and non-profit program management capabilities, with a focus on long-term organizational success.
  • A self-starter and problem solver with the ability to take initiative.
  • Strong analytical skills with a focus on process improvement methodologies.
  • The ability to develop clear alternatives and solutions to assist in problem solving that empowers the organization.
  • Organizational development acumen with the ability to identify growth opportunities.
  • Ability to adapt/pivot direction of program services and/or projects.
  • Excellent project management skills, capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to work in a variety of settings with culturally diverse individuals and communities.
  • Must have strong technical skills, working knowledge of Word, Excel, and other Outlook applications, Social Media Outlets, Constant Contact, Survey and the ability to learn several computer programs quickly.
  • Ability to write and verbalize clearly, concisely, and professionally.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in social work or public health or related field preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in providing MH/SUD support and services.
  • Experience in developing and implementing effective mental health/SUD/cooccurring programs.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ supervisory experience preferred.
  • Ability to travel to alternate locations of agency across the state weekly. Locations include, but are not limited to, Ocean County, Union County, Hudson County, etc.
  • Flexible schedule: including possible nights and weekends if needed.
  • Experience in senior leadership roles, demonstrating effective decision-making skills.
  • Finds and upholds a belief in recovery-oriented values and Working knowledge of peer support principles.
  • Experience in the development and presentations of a variety of training topics.
  • Experience in presenting in both in-person and virtual settings.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, Constant Contact, Social Media platforms, and Survey Monkey
  • Ability to present self in a positive manner and reflect the values of MHANJ.
  • Exhibit enthusiasm, respect, adaptability, flexibility, and spirit of cooperation in the work environment.
  • A strong sense of, and respect for confidentiality.
  • Excellent communication skills/customer service and organizational skills.
  • Valid NJ Driver’s License in good standing & reliable transportation required.
