What are the responsibilities and job description for the In Home Youth & Family Therapist position at Mental Health Association of Monmouth County?
The Mental Health Association of Monmouth County seeks a full-time Adolescent Early Intervention and Parent-Child Conflict Resolution (WRAP) Clinician to provide in-home counseling services to adolescents and their families for approximately 16 weeks. The ideal candidate will work closely with the collaborate with referral sources, ensure appropriate service linkages, and help build resilience through trauma-informed care.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct in-home, comprehensive, and individualized clinical assessments of youth referred to the program for treatment services related to truancy, school risk factors, parent-child conflict, or other high-risk behaviors.
- Create and implement individualized treatment plans with youth and families.
- Provide in-home counseling to youth and families referred to the program on a short-term basis (typically about 16 weeks).
- Complete all required documentation in a timely manner.
- Prepare discharge summaries, including aftercare recommendations.
- Write letters to judges to inform them of a child’s progress in the program, when applicable.
- Attend training sessions and implement trauma-informed assessments and treatments based on Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACE) knowledge, fostering resiliency for overall well-being.
- Meet with the program director for supervision and attend required meetings, including peer supervision, team meetings, and agency meetings.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Master's degree in a mental health clinical discipline and hold a current license to practice (LAC, LPC, LSW, LPC).
- Two years’ experience working with youth and families.
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
