The Mental Health Association is looking for a motivated and reliable Property Maintenance Tech I to maintain the cleanliness and functionality of our facilities. This entry-level position is ideal for someone who is hands-on, detail-oriented, and committed to creating a welcoming environment.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Grounds Maintenance: Regular upkeep of outdoor areas, including mowing lawns, weeding, trimming hedges, and general landscaping. Ensure that all external spaces are clean, tidy, and well-maintained.
- Trash Management: Handle waste removal efficiently by emptying trash bins, clearing debris, and ensuring that waste is properly disposed of. Maintain cleanliness in all public and private outdoor areas.
- Entry-Level Maintenance: Perform basic repairs and maintenance tasks as needed, including minor carpentry, painting, and general handyman duties. Address small issues such as fixing minor leaks, replacing light bulbs, and conducting simple repairs to ensure the functionality and safety of the facilities.
- Additional Responsibilities: Assist with seasonal tasks like snow removal or leaf raking. Support senior maintenance technicians as required and follow instructions for more complex maintenance tasks.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Must have GED or High School Diploma.
- Basic knowledge of groundskeeping practices and entry-level maintenance tasks.
- Ability to operate hand tools and basic power equipment.
- Physical stamina to perform manual labor, including lifting up to 50 pounds and working in various weather conditions.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow safety procedures.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Previous experience in groundskeeping or basic maintenance is a plus but not required.
- Ability to work independently and take initiative in maintaining a clean and safe environment.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation.
