- 9am - 5pm, Monday - Friday
- Hybrid work: remote and in-person in San Francisco 2-3 days a week. Some schedule flexibility may be required for training schedule needs and urgent situations.
SALARY: $32/hour

MHASF is a mental health peer-run nonprofit located in downtown San Francisco serving people and agencies across the Bay Area since 1947. OVERVIEW OF POSITION
The program coordinator plays a critical role in supporting our Digital Peer Navigators (DPN) as their supervisor and conducting monthly skill-based digital literacy workshops. The DPN's participants in using a laptop or iPad, navigating online platforms, and acquiring the technical skills needed to successfully engage in job searches, online learning, and other digital literacy activities. The coordinator in this role will assist our Digital Peer Navigators by providing 1:1 supervision. The coordinator will help them during challenging emotional situations, strengthen their peer support skills, and provide on-site supervision once a week at a shelter we partner with. This individual will also design the curriculum for our monthly workshop series and facilitate the classrooms.
The Program Coordinator works with both programs to assist in recruitment methods, data management, education workshops, and engagement strategies. We're seeking someone with a combination of peer support skills, technical ability, and an understanding of the profound importance of peer-to-peer connections for emotional wellness.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide one-on-one or group instruction on essential digital skills, including using zoom for online learning and video conferencing, job search platforms.
- Supervise and provide support to our Digital Peer Navigators daily, monitoring the documentation of their sessions with participants, de-briefing and providing guidance on crisis situations, and providing on-site support with our partnered shelter.
- Monitor, assess, and document participants' digital literacy progress, providing regular feedback to workforce program staff and aligning support with overall employment readiness goals.

QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or equivalent required; an associate or bachelor's degree in education, information technology, social work, or a related field is preferred.
- 1-3 years of experience in digital literacy programs or mental health (e.g., peer counselor or peer specialist), ideally within a nonprofit setting
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users in a patient and supportive manner.
- Proficiency in common computer applications, including Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and popular video conferencing platforms.
- Ability to troubleshoot technical issues and support participants in finding solutions to digital access challenges.
- Experience working with diverse populations, including low-income individuals, people with disabilities, and individuals with varying levels of education and technical expertise. Experience facilitating trainings, workshops and presentations
- Professional computer skills including software knowledge in Office 365, the iOS and Android operating systems and other web-based collaboration/communication tools (e.g., Asana, Slack)
- Personal lived experience of mental health challenges, and willingness to disclose to participants and in presentations

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
The position requires long periods of work at a desk, which may involve sitting or standing and the use of a computer, keyboard, mouse, and desk phone. The office building and between floors of the building, and to travel short distances (under 1 mile) is required. Other physical tasks may involve reaching, pulling, pushing, bending, climbing a stepladder, use of a dolly to move items weighing up to 50 lbs., and lifting and carrying up to 20 lbs.
