POSITION OVERVIEW : The Mental Health Team Lead is responsible for the development and oversight of their area (Woodlawn and / or Countryside). Participates in marketing efforts and or presentation to the community to enhance program enrollment and awareness. Provides therapy with an emphasis of prevention. Work with individuals and groups to promote optimum mental health and recover from mental illness. Scope of service will include issues related to mental illness, addiction and / or substance abuse, family, parenting, and marital problems; suicide, stress management; problems with self-esteem, and aging and mental and emotional health.
ESSENTIAL POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Provides services in order to maintain required productivity / billing standard of 900 hours per year.
- Provides mentorship to their peers and problem-solving methods to client consultation and or mentoring and examples of optimal ways to reach direct service goals and con-concurrent documentation.
- Provides supervision to therapist at their location in order to ensure sound practice according to agency, ethical, legal and other regulations.
- Leads their site and team to promote successful outcomes and provide support.
- Communicates status of therapists' practice with Clinical Director on an ongoing basis. Reports any concerns immediately to supervisor.
- Leads the team to promote successful outcomes and provide support to the team.
- Develops and promotes the counseling program in accordance with best practices, including outreach, marketing, community presentations and promotion of the counseling program.
- Meets deadlines and ensures accuracy of various report / paperwork, mileage sheets, and electronic timesheets.
- Maintains accurate and timely documentation of service provision. Completes progress notes in a manner that individualizes each note, reflecting appropriate interventions and progress towards goals.
- Submits required progress notes / billing information in a timely manner as per agency, Medicaid, and guarantor guidelines and contracts.
- Performs clinical assessments, formulates diagnoses, and develop treatment plans.
- Provides therapy services to clients and patients, individually and in group sessions, to assist in overcoming mental illness and making changes.
- Guides clients in the development of skills and strategies for dealing with identified problems.
- Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions and clients' progress in resolving identified problems and moving towards defined objectives.
- Modifies treatment activities and approaches as needed in order to comply with changes in clients' status.
- Counsels family members to assist them in understanding, dealing with, and supporting clients or patients.
- Maintains confidentiality of records relating to clients' treatment.
- Initiates discharge planning with clients to facilitate termination.
- Refers patients, clients, or family members to community resources or to specialists as necessary.
- Gathers information about community member health needs and resources that could be used in conjunction with therapy.
- Learns about new developments in the field by reading professional literature, attending courses and seminars, and establishing and maintaining contact with other social service agencies. Sharing advancements with supervisees.
- Completes peer reviews and documentation / chart reviews for the Outpatient Department as needed or directed by Clinical Director.
Requirements
OTHER POSITION REQUIREMENTS :
POSITION REQUIREMENTS : The Outpatient Team Lead Therapist must have a Master's degree (or above) and working towards clinical licensure in their respective field of study. Must have two years post independent licensure. Each individual will be eligible for approval of 3rd party payer systems and will apply for a variety of insurance panels. Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills. The Outpatient Team Lead Therapist will have knowledge of principles, methods, and procedures for diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation of physical and mental dysfunctions. A valid Kansas driver license and access to personal vehicle required.
