What are the responsibilities and job description for the Direct Support Staff- 2nd Shift position at Mental Health Association Of The Southern Tier?
Join our team at the Crisis Respite Residential House as a Full-Time Crisis Respite Specialist! Work Tuesday through Saturday from 3pm-11pm for a total of 40 hours. and help individuals in mental health crisis find a safe, supportive environment as they work toward recovery. Staff will:
Assist in the daily operations of a certified residential program
Implement planned programming with clients that will support their recovery and progress
Provide support and advocacy to individuals in crisis
Assist clients with accessing resources and community services needed during stay and upon discharge
Assist clients with the admission and discharge process
Assist clients with determining goals, create a care plan to support client
Provide peer support, model wellness and recovery methods to support clients
Demonstrate and model daily living skills to clients needing additional support (cooking, cleaning, etc.)
Treat all clients with dignity and respect, and maintain professional boundaries with clients
Qualifications:
Minimum of a HS diploma/GED, degree in human services preferred
Five years of experience in human services (mental health/substance use preferred)
Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record to drive agency vehicles
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
