The Mental Health Association is seeking a Consulting Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor for our New Jersey Statewide Student Support Services (NJ4S) Hub , operating in Morris and Sussex Counties.
The NJ4S Hub program will provide regional coverage through a Hub that will offer proven prevention strategies used to support every student in Morris and Sussex Counties and their families. The Hub will integrate its programming with existing state and local services, to improve coordination and reduce duplication of effort. The Hub will offer a tiered menu of evidence-based prevention and intervention strategies that can be deployed in high-need districts. The NJ4S Hub will provide universal supports to all Morris / Sussex students, and more intensive supports to students in schools with higher needs.
Qualified applicants for the position of Consulting Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor will have, at minimum :
- A Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LCADC), and must possess a master's degree or a doctorate in addictions or a counseling-related field from an accredited institution of higher learning.
- Experience in completing assessments and providing brief individualized clinical interventions to youth and families is required. Previous training in motivational interviewing preferred.
- The ability to demonstrate effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Must be well organized, accurate, have good interpersonal skills and welcomes new ideas.
- The ability to work flexible hours which include before, during and after school hours to meet the needs of the community.
Under the direction of the Program Director, the Consulting Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor will be responsible for :
