The mission of the Mental Health Association is to promote mental health, with the integration of physical healthcare, to improve the care and treatment of individuals with mental illness, and to remove the stigma associated with mental health disorders and addictions.

MHA is seeking a Part Time Clinician to join The Mental Health Association Team !

This is a Part-time position of 15 hours per week. Please note: This position is grant based and is temporary. However, there is a potential for the program to be extended into 2026. The location of this position will be at an offsite aftercare and summer camp program.

Qualifications
Must possess a Master’s degree in Social Work or Counseling along with an LSW or LAC. Candidate must also have at least 2 years of post-graduate relevant clinical experience working with children providing social work and/or counseling services, mental health/behavioral risk assessments, crisis intervention, case formulation, case planning and/or discharge planning/case disposition.

Responsibilities

  • Implement psychosocial and behavioral assessments with youth and involve the parents and guardians in the assessment process, as needed. 
  • Provide individual and/or group counseling and support to youth along with supportive consultations to their families.
  • When appropriate for the child and the setting, provide in-program support. 
  • Perform crisis assessment and crisis intervention with youth as needed.
  • Establish collaborative relationships with childcare program personnel to ensure clear communications and project expectations.
  • Provide consultation and education to childcare program personnel on current behavioral strategies regarding issues surrounding mental health and childhood and adolescent development.
  • Assist youth, families and childcare program personnel in understanding and navigating through the mental health and social services system.
  • Liaison, advocate and collaborate with other treatment providers on behalf of youth and families.
  • Complete professional, clinical documentation and charting as required of oversight organizations and funding sources.
  • In collaboration with the childcare program, agency and funding source, develop and implement program age appropriate evaluation tools to determine outcome measures and overall effectiveness of interventions.
  • Complies with mandated coursework for professional development through Relias Learning.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Suicide Prevention Services
