Job Description
The Children’s Director will support the Center’s Mission and Guiding Values, as well as participate in achieving strategic initiatives. This position oversees the day-to-day operations of a clinical services department employing 80 staff who provide outpatient individual, family, and group therapy, as well as case management, functional supports, medication services, and care coordination to children, adolescents, and families. The Director is responsible for providing supervision to Clinical Coordinators, Medical staff, and the Practice Administrator. The Director will actively participate in community collaboration, provide a variety of training for staff and others, and possess advanced knowledge of evidenced-based practices pertaining to youth. The Director will oversee a variety of grants and will work with a team to meet the goals of these funding sources. Additional responsibilities include collaborating with all other center departments and statewide community mental health centers.
Patients and families served by the Child and Adolescent department range in age from 2 to 21 years, with varying mental health needs. The department can provide office, telehealth, and community-based clinical services, as well as access to a wide range of adjunct services, which may include medication, services in the school, and functional support services.

Key Responsibilities
- Works on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires in-depth evaluation of variable factors. Constructs and may pursue alternative paths towards a solution. Exercises judgment in selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results consistent with broadly defined policies and practices.
- Directs and oversees initiatives, data analysis activities, and evaluation strategies for clinical programs, including pilot projects, grant-funded services, direct care, and potential research projects.
- Innovates and implements evidence-based practice models for clinical efficiency and effective treatment delivery standards with fidelity.
- Hires, trains, coaches, and evaluates performance of direct reports.
- LICSW/LCMHC preferred or a related field, and 5 years minimum experience as a demonstrated leader in the field of behavioral health.
- Supervise, coach, and provide guidance to Associate Director, Coordinators, Medical Staff, Practice Administrator, and staff.
- Review data to ensure financial goals are on target.
- Monitored documentation to ensure clinical standards are met by staff.
- Lead administrative meetings, EBP consultation meetings, and committee meetings.
- Know current child, adolescent, and family therapies, as well as services provided by youth community-serving organizations in the area.
- Work collaboratively with community partners and further develop relationships in the community.
- May be requested to take part in consultations, education activities, speakers bureau. presentations, supervision of employees towards licensure, and Quality Improvement activities.
- Support an environment of inclusion, connection, and safety.
- Ability to accurately assess program operational effectiveness, direct resources, and lead others towards achievement of identified program goals.
- Advanced communication and writing skills.
- Strong computer skills, electronic medical records skills, and presentation ability.
- Strong leadership skills.
- Experience in the field of behavioral health. Knowledge of children’s mental health and treatment of complex youth and family mental health challenges with a myriad of mental health and substance use disorders.
- Demonstrated DEI competence and knowledge/experience in meeting patients’ communication access needs.
- Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply.
- 5 years of management-level experience in a behavioral health care setting, or an equivalent combination of skills and experience.
- Exceptional strategic thinking, decision-making, problem-solving skills, and adaptability highly preferred.
