What are the responsibilities and job description for the Qualified Intellectual Disabilities Professional (QIDP) position at Mental Health Centers of Western Illinois?
Overview: A member of the treatment staff responsible for the day-to-day oversight and administration of the Personal Plan and Implementation Strategy for Community Day Services (CDS) and Home Based Support Services (HBS) Programs at the Hancock site.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a human services field; Psychologist; or Social Worker
- Minimum of one year's experience with individuals with intellectual disabilities, and approval by DHS-DD as a QIDP; and meeting the training requirements set by DHS
- A valid driver's license
- At least 21 years of age
- Must demonstrate the ability to work in the field of services to adults in children; within the agency's structure with acceptance of supervision; and constructively with those enrolled in the CDS and/or HBS programs, their family's, PSW's, and the community
- Organizational communication (both oral and written) and clerical skills
- Ability and willingness to make home visits to clients who may reside in homes not physically accessible to wheelchairs, at the request of the individual served
Abbreviated Job Duties:
- Assist individuals and their family in identifying goals and preferences on an ongoing basis, translating those into needed generic or specialized services and supports, developing a comprehensive and integrated Implementation Strategy, and obtaining or creating the needed services.
- Submit all required requests for prior approval-service authorizations to the fiscal/employer agent.
- Ensure that all providers are aware of and meet the requirements for participation in Home Based Support Services, only if the individual chooses to purchase SDA services.
- Ensure that all providers are enrolled as Medicaid waiver providers with the Department of Public Aid, are established with DHS, and have a completed W-9 on file with the Comptroller in order to be reimbursed.
- Monitor consistent implementation of the plan and the health, safety and welfare of the individual.
- Maintain a comprehensive individual record by meeting guidelines from the HBS manual.
- Complete a monthly QIDP note by the 10th of the month following service delivery for CDS consumers, and every other month QIDP note by the 10th of the month following service delivery for HBS only consumers, who have chosen SDA services.
- Review provider payments to ensure that needed services are being delivered and that payment and rates are consistent with and do not exceed the service agreements, for individuals who have chosen SDA services.
- Complete all required documentation for ROCS billings.
- Work cooperatively with all staff members in the provision of services.
- Preserve confidentiality of all agency materials relating to clients, services and privileged personnel/administration information.
- Assist families with completing Employer and new PSW enrollment packets, and explain duties and responsibilities of each, according to state and agency regulations, for individuals who have chosen SDA services.
- Will be required to carry the transportation pager and provide emergency transportation for psychiatric admits outside the regular business hours.
- Obtain, and maintain IDOT driver’s training.
- Establish a safe and caring environment which promotes independence, community integration, and economic self-sufficiency.
- Perform all other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Pay: $19.75 - $26.45 per hour
