The duties that the incumbent of the vacancy will be expected to perform. Duties Description As a Registered Nurse 3 (Psychiatric Educator), you would plan, design, and develop orientation and training curriculum for nursing staff; provide on the job training, clinically supervise staff in the provision of nursing services, evaluate training needs and modify programs to ensure effective service delivery, collaborate with nursing management and multidisciplinary treatment teams to develop and revise policies and procedures and ensure staff competencies are current and in compliance with nursing standards. Notes: 1. If you fail to maintain your license and/or registration once you are appointed, action will be taken to remove you from the position. 2. To be eligible for appointment and to maintain employment, you cannot be listed as an excluded individual or entity on any of the Federal and/or State Medicaid and Medicare exclusion lists (or excluded from any other Federal or Federally assisted program). Hutchings Psychiatric Center is currently recruiting a Registered Nurse 3 (Psychiatric Educator) to plan, design, and develop training curriculum to improve the knowledge, skills, and abilities of nursing staff.Minimum Qualifications: Candidates from outside and within State Service can be considered for a provisional appointment if they have: • License and current registration as a registered professional nurse in New York State and• Bachelor’s degree in nursing and• 2 years of post-licensure nursing experience; 1 year must be clinical nursing experience working with individuals, at least 50% of whom have been diagnosed with mental illness, addiction, or substance use disorder and 1 year must be as a professional nurse educator conducting nurse education and trainingSubstitution: Master’s degree in nursing or higher may substitute for the one year of nurse educator experience.If you are appointed provisionally, you must take the next scheduled Civil Service examination for this title and your score must be reachable on the resulting eligible list before you can be permanently appointed. If you do not pass the examination or achieve a reachable score, you may not be retained.
