The duties that the incumbent of the vacancy will be expected to perform. Duties Description As a Social Work Assistant 1 at Hutchings Psychiatric Center, you will work with an interdisciplinary team and duties will include: • Interviewing individuals and their families to gather background information• Preparing case histories and determining eligibility for services• Advocating and assisting individuals in identifying and obtaining servicesNOTE: 1. Minimum Qualifications Hutchings Psychiatric Center is recruiting for Social Work Assistant 1 to provide case management and service coordination activities for individuals with mental illness. Candidates from outside or within State Service can apply.Minimum Qualifications: Candidates from outside or within State Service can be considered for hire under the Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement – Statewide (NY HELPS) program if they have a bachelor’s degree in a human service field and 1 year of social work experience.Substitution: Master’s degree in social work can substitute for 1 year of specialized experience.
