The minimum qualifications required for this vacancy. Minimum Qualifications Candidates from outside or within State Service can be considered for hire under the Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement – Statewide (NY HELPS) program if they meet any of the following: Teacher 2 – Current New York State Education Department initial certification in classroom teaching in the appropriate specialty.Teacher 3 – Current New York State Education Department permanent/professional certification in classroom teaching in the appropriate specialty.Teacher 4 - Current New York State Education Department permanent/professional certification in classroom teaching in the appropriate specialty and 2 years of post-certification (initial or permanent/professional) teaching experience in that same specialty. ORCandidates from outside or within State Service can be considered for a competitive class appointment if they are reachable on a current Teacher eligible list.ORCandidates from within State Service can be considered for a competitive class appointment if they have one year of permanent competitive or 55-b/55-c service in a title eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law.
