Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled Director of Finance with 7 years of experience in financial forecasting, budget analysis, and long-range projections. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strategic thinking, ethical leadership, and expertise in maintaining financial stability through monthly budget analysis. Experience in accounting oversight and audits is a plus. This position supports a dynamic public sector behavioral healthcare environment at a three-county Mental Health Recovery Board, overseeing grants and State/Federal allocations with over 20 independent non-profit and for-profit providers.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervises employees and financial operations, including revenue, expenditures, and accounting records for the Board.
Lead strategic development and implementation of accounting systems, policies, and internal controls in compliance with GAAP.
Ensure financial reporting, budgeting, and analysis align with federal, state, and county regulations.
Provide financial forecasts (such as 5-year projections) and insights, advising the Board CEO on fiscal strategies.
Monitor and review agency audits for regulatory compliance.
Oversee and report on the operational and services budget, ensuring accuracy and adherence to financial standards.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business, or related field.
7 years of experience in scaling financial operations, with documented supervisory experience.
Proficiency in fund management and governmental accounting principles.
Strong interpersonal, communication, and public speaking skills.
Experience in establishing monitoring systems for contract care providers.
Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and apply management and HR principles.
Skilled in leadership, organization, data analysis, and preparing management reports.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and resolve complex organizational issues.
Preferred: Public sector and behavioral health finance experience.
Salary commensurate with skills and experience (range $96,012-$129,169).
