Onsite IT Technician

Mentis Group is looking for a friendly and detail-oriented individual to add to our team of superstars as our Onsite IT Technician. This position will be a “face of Mentis”… the best candidate will be a personable, presentable and confident presence with a strong desire to complete tasks with accuracy and efficiency. Team players, only.

As a Managed Service Provider (MSP), Mentis Group supports the IT environments of multiple small to medium-size businesses (SMBs). The environments can vary in terms of size and complexity. As such, the pace and demands can maintain a high level. This position requires strong "desktop" skills (business grade computers, printers, peripherals, etc) as well as familiarity and comfort with business-grade infrastruture (servers, firewalls, switches, wireless access points, etc). This role will support both the Service and Project teams within Mentis.

Job Requirements:

• Minimum of 2 years of hands-on IT-related work (formal education and/or certifications a plus)
• Highly proficient with Windows-based desktops, laptops and mobile devices. Familiarity with Dell and Lenovo hardware and docking stations is desirable. Familiarity with Apple and Android devices is also a plus.
• Previous experience "racking and stacking" infrastructure hardware including rack-mount servers, firewalls, switches, etc. Familiarity with structured cabling is also a plus.
• Ability and willingness to individually lift up to 30lbs as needed.
• Legal authorization to work in the U.S.
• Current Texas Driver’s License
• Well-maintained and insured personal automobile… preferably with a trunk and/or secured space for storage a small amount of hardware, tools, etc.

Job Responsibilities

• Troubleshooting and resolving desktop issues.
• Provide “boots on the ground” for remote Service and Project Engineers… this will an opportunity to learn more about IT!
• Stage and prepare computers for manual or automated build
• Assist with final data migration of built computers and position workstation including computer setup, peripheral setup and cable management
• Relocate hardware such as workstations, printers, etc.

Other Considerations

• This position reports jointly to the Service Team Lead and Project Manager.
• This position is intended to be a full-time position (with standard benefits to be discussed).
• Work hours will be variable between 7AM – 6PM Monday thru Friday. The Service Coordinator will manage schedule on a daily basis (due to open requests) with a daily target of 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week.
• This position is 100% mobile and/or at client site. If there are gaps in schedule, the position will work out of the Mentis office located in north Dallas (75 and 635 area). Travel time to/from Mentis office and Client site is included in daily hour tracking. Personal home proximity to Mentis office may be differentiator... travel to/from home and Mentis office is not included.
• You will be reimbursed for mileage (at then current IRS rate), parking and tolls on a monthly basis.

Pay: $55,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
