What are the responsibilities and job description for the Intervention Specialist - (Mild/Moderate K-12 License) - Cardinal Path Program position at Mentor Public Schools?
The Cardinal Path Program is a Specialized Emotional Disturbed (ED) Unit within our high school that supports students with emotional and behavioral challenges. This program is designed to provide a flexible learning environment that combines structured in-person instruction with supported online coursework, offering students a personalized academic pathway toward graduation.
The candidate will be skilled in delivering academic instruction, supporting social-emotional development, managing behavior, and coordinating individualized educational plans (IEPs). Also, will collaborate with general education teachers, counselors, families, and service providers to create a supportive, inclusive, and trauma-informed environment.
Qualifications:
- Must have appropriate, valid certification or license to teach the content area in both teaching areas as recognized by the Ohio Department of Education.
- Thorough knowledge, understanding and appreciation for the learning process and the nature and growth of children.
- Proficiency in teaching, i.e., demonstrate ability to adapt his/her knowledge of educational methodology and variety of instructional techniques for the benefit of students in the learning environment. Scholarly competence in the structure and content of the subject area for which (s)he is responsible.
- Ability to communicate with students and parents the manner in which the curriculum relates to them.
- Demonstrate the ability to work and interact with other staff members, students, and administration in a manner that is cooperative and productive.
