What are the responsibilities and job description for the Menus and Venues Graphic Designer position at Menus and Venues?
Role Summary
The Graphic Designer is responsible for assisting in the creation and execution of the visual identity for the Menus & Venues division. This position requires a team player with a hands-on approach to support the multiple creative projects that occur on all applicable mediums. These projects include, but are not limited to, illustration, layout, production, presentations, file preparation, implementing systems, and design research.
Role Responsibilities
- Assist Marketing Manager and Director of Marketing with all aspects of the various creative projects for the M&V brands.
- Assist team with projects based on their creative direction, adjusting as needed based on feedback. Includes: seasonal display, store operations, product graphics, in-house communications, branding, packaging, etc.
- Design collateral to support and streamline operational activities and initiatives.
- Openly communicate with Marketing Manager, Marketing Director, and other stakeholders on projects and concepts.
- Participate in weekly meetings and critiques of work.
- Research and gather inspiration for the visual identity of the brands as well as for individual projects.
- Assist with ad-hoc opportunities related to visual direction and representation including but not limited to social media, content creation, and branding.
- Plan and organize brand photoshoots
Role Qualifications
- Fluency in adobe creative suite required
- Must be able to multitask with an awareness for timing and urgency
- Strong sense of branding, mood, color, and artistic techniques
- Strong knowledge of typographic hierarchy, alignment, placement, and composition. Mastery of technical spacing including: kerning, tracking, leading. Knowledge of trending typefaces, type-mixing and pairing.
- Strong sense of layout – balance, flow, composition, and white space.
- Very strong attention to detail is crucial
- Excellent communication skills and transparency
- Ability to problem solve and follow creative direction
- Positive and professional attitude is expected
- Animation skills are a plus but not required
- Being able to work in a team as well as independently
- Ability to work under pressure and respecting deadlines
- Familiarity with the brand is not necessary but is a plus
