What are the responsibilities and job description for the URBN Accountant position at Menus and Venues?
Role Summary
URBN is searching for an Accountant to join our Menus and Venues division! Within this division, the Accountant will be responsible for implementing and monitoring financial controls across the organization. The Accountant’s responsibilities will include supporting the month-end closing process and actively contributing to the development, implementation, and adherence to all financial procedures.
Role Responsibilities
- Key member of the month end close process
- Ensure sales and cash are reconciled on a daily basis
- Make month end and adjusting entries including sales postings, accrual and prepaid adjusting entries
- Partner with the treasury department and URBN shared services sales audit department to ensure proper movement and reconciliation of all cash, credit card and third party accounts
- Ensure proper reconciliation of balance sheet accounts
- Partners with Accounting Supervisor and Director of Operations to determine reporting needs of 4wall operators on a weekly, monthly and quarterly basis
- Works with field teams to identify unprocessed invoices and ensures proper submittal for payment
- Ensure proper coding of expenses through account review and reclasses.
- Drives the creation and maintenance of a positive and vibrant team culture that enhances employee morale and productivity.
- Analyzes spending patterns to uncover areas for optimization and presents clear, actionable recommendations to drive cost efficiency.
Role Qualifications
- 1-2 years of relevant experience
- Must be highly collaborative in all aspects of work
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Knowledge of GAAP principles
- Experience with Oracle EBS and Hyperion HFM a plus
- Experience with Food and Beverage POS a plus
- Advanced excel skills
- Ability to create and implement processes and to create buy in from a broad team.
- Ability to influence others without direct reporting structure
