Job Description: Location: Santa Fe, NM Compensation: This is an exempt position. The starting pay for this position is $52,000. Compensation will vary based on experience. Job Description The Tech Coordinator is responsible for supporting the Senior Technical Design and Production Manager within the Artistic Development and Production team (AD&P). This position functions as an important liaison and information resource for Production Managers, Artists, Fabricators, Tech Fabricators, and CAD Designers, regarding projects that have integrated technical components. A candidate for this role must be, above all else, an excellent communicator in meetings and in written word. The Tech Coordinator is responsible for managing the in-house tech inventory. This position will demonstrate a working knowledge of the Technical Systems Documentation and installation details of each project with integrated technical components and communicate information needed to the appropriate people. The Tech Coordinator serves as the point of contact for OFOI (Owner Furnished Owner Installed) tech focused installations by Meow Wolf. The role of the Tech Coordinator will integrate infrastructure needs with the Art Installation Manager and Technical Director. The Tech Coordinator will represent the Senior Technical Design and Production Manager in design reviews, early design and development phases, and in weekly production meetings. This position will also be responsible for general administrative tasks, errands, and purchase order requests as needed by the Senior Technical Design and Production Manager. How you will do it… Responsible for gathering intelligence and disseminating information on all in-house projects that include integrated tech, with an understanding of how each element will be installed as outlined in the Technical Systems Documentation Ability to read and interpret Technical System Documentation as well as technical drawings with infrastructure information Liaison between the Artists, Fabricators, CAD Designers, Tech Fabricators, Technical Systems Designer, and AD&P Team Management for tech focused work Attend weekly project meetings to gather new technical design intent and updates to ongoing work, and report updates to AD&P Team Leadership on tech focused work Coordinate Infrastructure and OFOI Tech installs with Technical Directors, the Art Installation Manager, and the Tech Systems Designer and serve as the point of contact for OFOI Tech focused installations Manage the Tech Inventory, and gain familiarity with all components and how they are used in exhibition projects Add technical components to existing Purchase Requests to fulfill requirements as laid out by a project’s Tech System Documentation Organize and group tech component deliveries for upcoming tech fabrication projects as well as shipments for site delivery Attend design meetings for information logging and gathering of technical intent for the Design phase of future exhibitions Responsible for learning Meow Wolf tech fabrication standards to provide input on early design discussions and CAD Design reviews Partner with the AD&P Production Coordinator and Production Managers to inform production Gantt charts Assist the Production Director in scheduling individual Tech Fab and Creative Engineering team members’ time on our internal production Gantt Board Keep a tidy digital workspace, update Operations Worksheets with final Tech Systems Documentation for each production element and ensuring that production team members can access the files they need to throughout a project Schedule and attend a variety of technical production-focused meetings, ensuring that all meetings have a clear agenda, taking notes, and distributing notes to attendees afterward Other duties as assigned, toward the successful creation and tracking of artistic production. To be successful in this role… 1 year of experience in assisting people and teams in a tech production focused environment. Strong organization, strong written and verbal communication, a can-do approach to collaboration, and good interpersonal skills. A self starter who can identify communication gaps and work quickly to close them Ability to work effectively under pressure, meet deadlines and drive multiple projects simultaneously to completion. Basic familiarity with various technical components and installation, with great willingness to keep learning more. Knowledge of document management, transcription and other administrative procedures. High attention to detail. It would be nice to have… Experience managing complex schedules and deadlines. Experience purchasing, handling, and working with various tech components Experience working in an environment where discretion regarding sensitive or confidential information was required. Experience in working within collaborative teams of all sizes and ability to communicate clearly, professionally and effectively. Proficiency with Google Suite and Gantt Charts. Work Environment and Physical Demands… Position is located in Santa Fe, NM and a company laptop will be provided. This is a full-time position averaging 40 hours a week, Monday to Friday, 9 am to 5 pm MT or 10 am to 6 pm MST – occasionally requiring flexibility to work during evenings or weekends based on business needs, as well as travel to off-site locations. Physical demands: prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer; must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
