Location: This position is based in Santa Fe, NM.
Compensation: The salary range for this position is $88,870.00 - $122,640.00. Compensation is based on location and experience.
The Manager, Show Lighting will be responsible for supporting the management and processes of the Show Lighting Team. This role requires strong managerial and administrative skills, creative problem-solving, and sensitivity to engage in a nuanced creative process and culture. The ideal candidate will have experience in team management related to large-scale immersive experience design, interactive environments, and/or immersive projection and technology-driven experiences. This person will possess strong communication and time management skills, a sense of humor, patience, and a drive to create innovative experiences in small and large-scale projects. This candidate will be instrumental in the designing, refinement, and development of the lighting team’s drawing practices and integration into a BIM environment. The ability to trust, respect, inspire, and be compassionate with team members is vital in guiding individuals who create these projects and is crucial to success in this role. The ideal candidate will have strong experience as a Lighting Designer, Lighting Design Manager, or Lighting Specialist.

Work Environment
This position works primarily in an indoor setting with exposure to noisy environments, dim lighting, strong visual effects including strobing lights, special effects, fog machines and small and/ or enclosed spaces. This job also operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and scanners.
Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Physical ability to walk, stand, take stairs/slides/elevators, and navigate the elements during the day and night. Employee may be required to remain in a sitting or standing position for prolonged periods, and repeat motions that may include the wrists, hands, and/or fingers. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.

Work Schedule: This is a full time position with a flexible schedule which includes weekdays, weekends, evenings, and holidays.

Job Responsibilities
- Drive hiring and staffing strategy for show lighting team
- Management of time off requests, tracking, and expense approvals.
- Drive show lighting team resourcing and resource management across projects and initiatives.
- Build strategies for and execute design & production management for the Show Lighting Team.
- Drive the development, refinement, and execution of design, drafting practices, and integration into a BIM environment.
- Read and understand drawings, schedules, and budgets that will be produced by and for the Show Lighting Team.
- Drive standards and processes for production partners working with lighting and embedded lighting.
- Help cultivate a healthy workplace that inspires personal and team growth.
- Advocate for the needs of the Show Lighting Team with project and company leadership.
- Scope and drive documentation and operations support needs with other key stakeholders.
- Contribute to project scoping, resourcing, schedules, and needs of subject matter experts
- 7-10 years of experience managing a Lighting Design team or lighting specialists in a creative environment.
- Strong understanding of Lighting Design (themed entertainment, architectural, and other) and phases, including an understanding of themed entertainment industry standard lighting systems and tools such as ETC Mosaic and ChamSys.
- Work experience in multi-year exhibition development through all major project phases.
- Experience with Python & LUA scripting.
- Experience working with both artists and contractors to deliver large-scale projects.
- You foster a collaborative environment, educate stakeholders about lighting design, and mentor designers.
- Experience with designing and drafting architectural, theatrical, and themed lighting designs or systems.
- A strong understanding of lighting industry best practices.
- The ability to communicate clearly, diplomatically, and with patience.
- Strong skills in collaboration, communication, critical thinking, and creative problem-solving.
- Experience with and understanding of Audio / Video / Creative Technology disciplines preferred.
- Deep experience of the technical arts or a portfolio of creative and/or design work as a technical artist.
- Experience creating pre-visualizations of Lighting Designs.
- Experience producing lighting packages in Revit.
- Relevant lighting certifications.
