MEPPI's Electrical Distribution Division (EDD) is seeking a Quality Specialist II to lead root cause analyses, corrective actions, and quality assurance initiatives. This role is instrumental in supporting the Quality Management Team in implementing and maintaining Quality Assurance programs, ensuring continuous improvement and high-quality standards across suppliers, customers, engineering, and manufacturing.
What Youll Do:
- Be the problem-solving guru, investigating and resolving supplier, customer, engineering, and manufacturing issues to boost performance and efficiency.
- Lead the charge on corrective actions by working cross-functionally with suppliers, customers, incoming inspection, production, and engineering to tackle assembly, design, and performance challenges head-on.
- Make training count by providing hands-on training and mentorship on root cause investigations and corrective action projects to level up quality across the board.
- Turn data into action by developing and maintaining data collection and analysis systems that uncover trends and drive informed decision-making.
- Own the quality review process by ensuring material review reports and field incident reports are resolved swiftly and effectively.
- Improve design from the ground up by supporting the design assurance program and identifying and correcting design flaws before they become costly issues.
- Audit like a pro by conducting, leading, and participating in internal and supplier audits, ensuring compliance while finding ways to optimize processes.
- Hit the road occasionally, traveling to supplier and customer locations to audit, analyze, and resolve quality concerns in real time.
- Shape the future of quality by staying ahead of the curve and implementing industrial quality assurance best practices to strengthen EDDs ISO-9000 system.
- Bridge the gap between teams by acting as the go-to liaison between EDD operational departments, vendors, and customers, keeping communication smooth and solutions-driven.
What You Bring:
- A strong foundation with a bachelors degree in a technical field and three to five years of experience in quality control, quality assurance, or a related field, or an equivalent mix of education and experience.
- ISO-9000 expertise with a solid understanding of quality assurance systems, lean, six sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies to keep processes sharp and efficient.
- Mastery of quality techniques, including statistical process control, Deming methods, and 5-why analysis to pinpoint and eliminate inefficiencies.
- Electrical and electronic knowledge with familiarity in electrical and electronic controls, quality signoffs, test reporting, and production travelers to ensure compliance and precision.
- A data-driven mindset with strong analytical and problem-solving skills to turn numbers into actionable insights.
- Top-notch communication skills to collaborate with employees, vendors, and customers and confidently present findings and recommendations.
- Tech savvy with advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office and MRP/ERP systems to streamline reporting and documentation.
