POSITION SUMMARY
As Technology Director at Mitsubishi Electric Power Products Inc. (MEPPI), you will spearhead initiatives to identify, plan, and bring to market cutting-edge technologies that drive innovation and sustainable growth. With a strategic focus on software solutions, advanced power electronics, and emergent technologies, you will lead efforts to revolutionize the utility, energy, data center, and transportation markets.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Identify and recommend innovative technologies for commercialization and sustainable growth.
- Develop and execute a comprehensive strategic power electronics plan for use in the energy, data center and transportation markets challenging the status quo to provide MEPPI with a technological competitive advantage.
- Facilitate strategic collaborations to develop technology and drive implementation of the plan and goals which are aligned with divisional goals. Ensure division strategic plans are in alignment with overall technology plan.
- Monitor emerging technologies, university and government research, market conditions, and competitors to identify and develop new and improved technology opportunities for commercialization. Conduct Voice of Customer surveys and interviews to assess next generation technology needs.
- Represent MEPPI as an industry expert on key speaker panels, at trade shows, industry conferences. Participate as an active member of industry associations such as IEEE, CIGRA, SEPA, etc.
- Develop and track KPIs to measure progress and success on technology improvement initiatives and, measure against industry benchmarks.
- Create reports on areas of emerging technology that could be of value to MEPPI in association with MEPPIs technology status, goals and progress.
- Develop and maintain product development project plans in accordance with established budget and timelines.
- Further the goals and positive, professional image of the Company by effective dealings with customers, vendors, universities, government research laboratories and internal departments.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelors degree in computer science or engineering with a minimum of 10 years of experience with industrial scale electrical power systems, data or electrification of transportation or equivalent education and experience.
- Advanced interpersonal, communication and presentation skills required to communicate with employees, executives, vendors, customers, and industry experts at all levels.
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret and communicate complex ideas and strategies.
- Ability to understand emerging technologies with experience working with research organizations to bring applied research to commercial solutions.
- Advanced computer skills with emphasis on Microsoft Office products.
