What are the responsibilities and job description for the Day Program Aide position at Merakey?
We are currently seeking a Part Time Program Aide to join our intellectual and Developmental Disabilities Services (IDD) division working at the Adult Training Facility in Hummelstown, PA.
The duties of a Program Aide involve direct care and program assistance in assigned area. Direction is provided by the Program Instructor. Work is supervised by the Program Director.
- Assist the participants with skills of daily living such as toileting, eating and other personal hygiene.
- Direction is provided by the program instructor in designated areas.
- Program Aide acts as the lead in the absence of the program instructor.
- Document participants daily attendance. Implements goal plans and provides guidance in social, recreational, educational, and therapeutic activities.
- Assist participants on skill building out in the community/Drive company vehicles.
- Keep storage areas and work areas clean and properly arranged.
- Assist with documentation responsibilities as requested.
- Perform special assignments as directed and related work as required.

Requirements:Our ideal candidate will possess the following skills:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Current, valid Driver's License Required
- Good communication both oral/written and organizational skills
- Experience with individuals with IDD
- Community Participation Certificate a plus
