Job Overview
Responsible for leading a team of full time Clinical Sales Specialist and 1099 Sales Clinical Sales Specialist to achieve sales targets by developing and implementing effective sales strategies for Opticyte Ocular Matix. Demonstrating a deep knowledge of the biotech industry, customer needs, and complex scientific concepts to educate potential clients and build strong relationships with key decision-makers within healthcare institutions, while monitoring market trends and competitor activity to identify new business opportunities and drive revenue growth
Key Responsibilities
- Team Leadership:
Lead a team of Clinical Product Specialist (Fulltime and 1099) by coaching, training, motivating, and developing the current sales team
Develop training materials, scripts, roll playing scenarios to consistently increase the teams KSA’s
Work with Senior VP’s to identify additional hiring needs to expand the current market share
Interview and make recommendations for the hiring of full-time Clinical Product Specialist as well as 1099 Clinical Product Specialist
Sales Strategy Development
Create and execute comprehensive sales plans to achieve sales targets, including identifying potential customers, developing lead generation strategies, and managing the sales pipeline
Continually monitoring sales reps/distributors progress and performance.
Create regional business sales plans and resource allocation.
Monitors accounts, Sales Distributor/Specialists, and regional performance indicators.

- Presentations and Product Education:
Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including customers, partners, and industry influencers
Represent the company at key events, conferences, and seminars to boost its visibility and market positioning
Conduct persuasive sales presentations and product demonstrations, effectively communicating the clinical advantages and applications of the Opticyte Ocular Matrix.
Provide ongoing education and training to healthcare professionals, ensuring they are well-versed in the product’s benefits and applications.

- Market Analysis and Insights:
Monitor market trends, competitor products, and customer feedback to refine sales strategies and enhance customer engagement.
Provide valuable insights and feedback to the Merakris team to support product development and marketing efforts.

- Reporting and Administration:
Maintain meticulous records of sales activities, customer interactions, and inventory management via CRM.
Prepare and submit regular sales reports detailing progress, challenges, and opportunities within your territory.

- Collaboration and Networking:
Work collaboratively with the Merakris Therapeutics team to align marketing strategies and promotional initiatives.
Attend industry events, trade shows, and conferences to represent the Opticyte Ocular Matrix and expand your professional network.
Qualifications
A Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Life Sciences, or a related field.
8-10 years of successful sales experience in the medical or healthcare industry, preferably with a focus on ophthalmology or related fields.
2-3 Years of Sales Management experience
Proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships with healthcare professionals.
Strong self-motivation, entrepreneurial mindset, and ability to work independently.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and virtual meeting platforms.
Experience using CRM platforms like HubSpot and SalesForce for managing outreach and sales activities.
Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
A high degree of professionalism, adaptability, and willingness to learn.
A willingness to travel as needed to trade shows or for other business purposes.
