- Master's degree or higher in educational administration required
- Valid Missouri principal certificate in the appropriate grade levels required
- Assistant Principal / Principal experience preferred
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide leadership and continuous curriculum review and research, including assisting in and keeping abreast of current research, etc.Be responsible for providing proper care of their buildings and grounds. He / She will exercise general supervision of the work of the custodians in the building and will cooperate with the director of support services in the discharge of custodial responsibility.Be responsible for communicating and interpreting school policy and practices to staff, parents, students and the public by using all means at his / her disposal.Be responsible for the accurate preparation of all building records and reports.Be responsible for submitting budget requests for each school year to the superintendent. (These requests will reflect cooperative planning on the part of the principal and faculty.)Be responsible for keeping the superintendent's office informed of all pertinent information regarding all phases of the school program, including serving as director of a building-level school age child care program and coordinating intramural offerings with the physical education teacher / building staff.Approve all requisitions for supplies and equipment before they are sent to the central office. (Requisitions for instructional materials should be submitted to the assistant superintendent and requisitions for custodial supplies and work orders to the director of maintenance and operations.)Be responsible for conducting emergency / safety drills.See that his / her building is open at appropriate times.Use established policy guidelines when allowing the use of school facilities by individuals or organizations.Be responsible for evaluating the work of teachers and for reporting this information to the superintendent. (He / She may delegate employee evaluation to the assistant principal. Final recommendation to the superintendent to re-employ or not to re-employ rests with the principal. This will involve periodical classroom visitations and personal conferences with teachers. He / She will immediately inform any staff member whose action or job performance is jeopardizing their opportunity for re-employment prior to informing the superintendent.)Be responsible for evaluating the work of any assistant principals within the school building.Be responsible for working with the professional development director and the professional development committee to provide leadership in assessing needs and planning and evaluating professional development activities / opportunities.Perform all other duties, relative to the efficient operation of the school, requested of him / her by the superintendent under the board of education policies.For a complete listing of job responsibilities and fitness for duty requirements, see our Building Principal Job Description at www.mvr3.k12.mo.us
TERMS : 12-month contract; $94,185 annually depending on experience and education

Recommendation to be given at the March or April 2025, Board of Education meeting.
