What's your day like?
As a Commercial Construction Portfolio Manager at Mercantile Bank, your day-to-day responsibilities will be dynamic and engaging. You will manage a team of Commercial Construction Portfolio Assistants to ensure the monitoring, reporting, and disbursement of construction loan proceeds operates efficiently within the construction loan guidelines of Mercantile Bank. You will oversee a portfolio of commercial construction projects, ensuring they align with our organizational goals and customer expectations. This role collaborates internally with Commercial Bankers, Commercial Loan Coordinators, Risk Management, and externally with borrowers, title companies, insurance companies, and third-party inspectors.
Job functions include maintaining a comprehensive construction monitoring program, ensuring adequate staffing and workload, coaching and delivering performance evaluations, meeting compliance and regulatory requirements, assisting bank regulatory examiners with audits, providing training to internal stakeholders, communicating with borrowers, producing monthly / quarterly / annual reports and so much more!
What we're looking for in a Commercial Construction Portfolio Manager
To thrive as a Commercial Construction Portfolio Manager at Mercantile Bank, a diverse skill set is essential. Three or more years of commercial lending and / or construction related experience is required in this position. Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and / or a combination of experience and certifications related to the industry.
