YOUR ROLE AS A LOAN REVIEW SPECIALIST

As a Full-Time Loan Review Specialist at Mercantile Bank, job functions include:

• Analyzes basic - moderate loans in the Bank's portfolio and renders judgments of the borrower's credit risk and the loan's collectability.
• Prepares loan review write-ups on the risk of default, risk of loss, quality of portfolio management (receipt of current financials, borrowing base reports etc.).
• Participates in efforts to enhance department and Bank procedures for loan review, processes, methodology, risk ratings, exceptions monitoring, portfolio analysis, management reporting and other areas as necessary.
• Detects potential problem loans at early stages.
• Detects adverse trends in credit quality, underwriting standards, and loan monitoring.
• Measures the appropriateness of and adherence to credit policies and procedures.
• Provides effective communication of findings to lending staff and management.
• Interacts with loan officers and other loan personnel regarding lending issues.
• May assist with the training and mentoring of less experienced personnel.
• Is familiar with loan documentation and loan structuring.
• Develops and maintains knowledge in the area of regulatory compliance especially in relation to the lending function.
• May serve as secretary for committee meetings.
• Comply with all laws, regulations, bank policies, and procedures.
• Complete all required training on time.

After training, there is an opportunity to work hybrid - up to 2 days per week from home.
