What are the responsibilities and job description for the Substitute Teacher I/II for Merced County Head Start position at Merced County Office of Education?
Under general supervision of a Site Supervisor or Master Teacher, teach an assigned group of students using developmentally appropriate practices; create an environment in which three through five year old children can experiment, make choices, solve problems and share their experiences with others. Plan and participate in parent education and parent involvement activities. Prepare and maintain accurate records. Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly physical environment. This position is included in the Head Start certificated bargaining unit and is subject to terms of the union agreement regarding membership, payment of like fee, or donation to recognized charity. The Merced County Office of Education assists Merced County’s 20 school districts through support and oversight of curriculum and instruction, alternative education, business services, early education, technology, migrant education, special education, and teacher credentialing. MCOE is led by the elected Merced County Superintendent of Schools and governed by the Merced County Board of Education. While serving as a focal point to facilitate local school/government/community partnerships, MCOE is responsible for the fiscal oversight of each school district in Merced County, hears appeals for student expulsion hearings and interdistrict transfers and operates Green Meadows Outdoor School. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Satisfactory results from pre-employment strength test required.
Education and/or Training:
Associates Degree with 24 units in ECE/CD including core courses, plus 16 general education units.
Experience:
One year experience in an instructional capacity in an early care and education program.
Salary : $21 - $24
