The Service Porter is a vital member of the service department team, ensuring smooth operations and a positive customer experience. You'll be responsible for cleaning, maintaining, and moving vehicles, while also assisting service advisors and technicians.
Responsibilities:
- Demonstrating a high “HQ” (Hospitality Quotient) consisting of kindness and optimism, intellectual curiosity, work ethic, empathy, self-awareness, and integrity
- Greet and assist clients in a professional manner
- Provide prompt, courteous and accurate service to internal and external customers
- Assist customers with "will-call" service
- Operate cash register, process and record payment according to method of payment, i.e. cash, credit card, and balance total payment per day
- Assist with the processing of DMV paperwork when necessary
- Determine proper method of shipment and prepare shipping documents for outgoing items according to specifications
- Maintain inventory of shipping materials and supplies
- Help assist in pulling parts to be deliver to technicians, and to retail
- Perform clerical duties such as filing, making copies, prepare outgoing mail and correspondence, including e-mail and faxes
- Drive company vehicles to runs errands as assigned (bank runs, DMV runs, etc.)
- File and purge repair orders in accordance with company policies
- Assist with physical and perpetual inventory
- Shuttle customers when necessary
- Prepare loaner agreements when necessary
- Assist with warehouse stock counts throughout the year
- Assist with counter help from time to time
- Report to Department Manager of assigned duties
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Demonstrates a high “HQ” (Hospitality Quotient) consisting of kindness & optimism, intellectual curiosity, work ethic, empathy, self-awareness, and integrity.
- At least 18 years of age
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED);
- Three to six months of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Valid state driver's license required
- Demonstrate understanding and application of principles, rules and regulation of the subject matter
- Demonstrate knowledge of operating a personal computer and its applications and other office machines
- Demonstrate ability to interact with customers in a professional manner by listening, determining the need and assisting the customer promptly Language Skill:
- Demonstrate ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
- Demonstrate ability to write simple correspondence
- Demonstrate ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization
- Demonstrate ability to communicate customers' interests, needs, and request to management
- Desire to work as a team player and uphold the company’s standards of professionalism and integrity
- Strong communication skills
