JOB TITLE : Contracting Finance Director
DEPARTMENT : Finance
REPORTS TO : Director of Sales and Finance

SUMMARY
Ensures profitability and customer satisfaction in this profit center by hiring, training, and supervising finance managers, and placing automotive transactions with in-direct lenders.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Essential duties include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Sells financing, gap, extended service plans, and credit life to customers.
- Provides customers with thorough explanation of aftermarket products and extended warranties.
- Converts cash deals to finance.
- Conducts business in an ethical and professional manner.
- Meticulously processes all federal, state, and dealership paperwork related to vehicle transactions for each and every deal finance manager completes.
- Understands and complies with federal, state, and local regulations that affect new- and used-vehicle and finance departments.
- Adheres to lienholder’s parameters and lending policies when completing paperwork including not exceeding maximum pricing for financial products.
- Completes paperwork necessary for vehicle sales and leases in a timely and efficient manner.
- Checks all paperwork for correct title, lien information, taxes, etc., before forwarding to accounting.
- Provides sales force and sales managers with current information about finance and lease programs continually.
- Trains the sales staff regarding the benefits of financing, insurance and extended service programs.
- Works with sales managers to secure a reasonable profit from every sale.
- Ensures collection of all finance and insurance fees.
- Prepares reports on finance penetration.
- Attends managers meetings.
- Develops and monitors guidelines for working with customers to ensure maximum customer satisfaction.
- Maintains an adequate and current supply of all required contracts and paperwork needed for completion and finalization of car deals.
- Maintains a professional appearance.
- Maintains a clean and professional work environment.
- Completes required certification tests.
- Supervises the selling of financing, gap, extended service plans, and credit life to customers.
- Communicates with lending institutions via telephone, computer, and fax to ensure placement of vehicle deals with lenders that maximize profit and maximize customer satisfaction.
- Cultivates a good working relationship with indirect lenders, by proper placement of deals and utilizing highest ethical standards when dealing with lenders.
- Supervises the correction of vehicle deals to ensure lender funding.
- Protects the dealership from liability, by conducting business in an ethical and professional manner.
- Acquires and maintains current state insurance license, completing continuing credit insurance education as needed.
- Assists in the development of budgetary forecasts of profit and costs for the finance department.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITERIS
Directly supervises three employees in the finance department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

EDUCATION and / or EXPERIENCE
High school graduate and four years related experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret financial reports and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and / or boards of directors, customers, and employees. Ability to make effective and persuasive speeches and presentations on controversial or complex topics to top management, public groups, and / or boards of directors.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commission, proportions, and percentages. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Ability to apply such concepts as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
REASONING ABILITLY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. Ability to apply principles logistical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
License to sell credit life insurance in the state of Texas.
