What are the responsibilities and job description for the Engineering Intern, Motor Control position at Mercedes-Benz R&D North America?

Research work in electric motor control algorithms design and development activities for electrified powertrain. Interact with universities, customers, and team members to provide solutions and support to meet customer’s expectations.
\n- Advancing the e-motor control technology with innovation methods, tools and processes. Establishing best practices for e-motor related analysis, controls and testing.
- Perform the E-Motor control algorithm development in Simulink/TargetLink models, auto code generation, algorithm verification and validation through simulation, hardware-in-the-loop, dyno tests, and other prototype test environments. Deliver system performance that meets the customer’s expectations.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
- 0-2 years of relevant work experience
- Electric motor control/Power electronics background
- Familiar with Rapid prototype tools, such as DSPACE/Plecs RTbox/FPGA
- Familiar with Matlable/Simulink
- Familiar with C language
- Knowledge of power electronics in electric drive systems
- Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering is preferred
- PhD candidate
