The stadium is also host of numerous other sports and entertainment events. We believe the Mercedes-Benz Stadium Campus can reconnect Westside neighborhoods with downtown Atlanta, provide year-round programming, and bring diverse groups together to share experiences and interests.
A central component of the campus is The Home Depot Backyard, a 11-acre greenspace that opened Fall 2018. This multi-purpose space is used for parking, tailgating and fan activations on game days and will be host to hundreds of programs and events per year, ranging from fitness classes to markets to concerts and cultural events.
Position Summary
The Home Depot Backyard has an opening for a Seasonal Assistant from May 2025 through November 2025. Experiences to be gained through the Community Program Seasonal Assistant position include:
- Planning, logistics, and execution for a wide variety of events/programs within The Home Depot Backyard’s expanding Programming Matrix.
- Interactions with associates, customers, and vendors through pre and post event planning and strategizing.
- Data gathering through solicitation of customer and vendor feedback.
- Experience with intramurals sports and operations.
- Inventory equipment control and risk mitigation.
- Brand ambassador for The Home Depot Backyard and participating sponsors.
- Program and event evaluation.
- Professional Customer Service that is necessary with direct customer and client interaction.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Assist with all daily needs of The Home Depot Backyard Department.
- Self directs seasonal park programming concepts, activities, and post reporting.
- Prepares seasonal Associate Sports League.
- Support Full-Time staff in logistical set-up and breakdown of all equipment and material related to specified program or event.
- Provides responsibility and guidance for assigned activities during the absence of immediate supervisor.
- Serves as assistant and/or instructor for all recreational and leisure activities relating to The Home Depot Backyard.
- Organizes programming supplies, prepares for classes and activities before the start of each session.
- Assists in expanding the areas of promotion for The Home Depot Backyard programs and services.
- Responsible for keeping all inventory up to date for The Home Depot Backyard.
- Drive guest engagement while surveying and gathering data to help evaluate the quality of all programs.
- Work alongside full-time staff on various projects for The Home Depot Backyard and provide support where needed.
- Tasks require the ability to exert light to very moderate physical effort in sedentary to light work; may involve some combination of stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling and may involve some lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of objects and materials.
- May involve extended periods of time at a keyboard, workstation, or outside in an open park setting.
- Performs other related duties as required.
Qualifications, Required Skills and Education Requirements
- College graduate.
- Prior internships or work experience (6 months to 2 years) in Events, Operations, Parks & Recreation, professional client service or related fields required.
- Solution oriented, highly motivated, and proactive self-starter who works well as both team member and individual contributor.
- Outstanding organizational skills, ability to follow through, and capable of meeting deadlines while balancing multiple projects and priorities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Physical requirements include the ability to lift 30 pounds and ability to be on your feet for 4 hours.
- Reliable transportation required.
- Ability to work non-traditional work hours, and weekend hours required.
