Job Duties:
Use knowledge of, and experience with, lean manufacturing methodologies; vehicle production; applying/exercising automotive industry equivalent Toyota Production System (TPS) methodologies, analyzing and structuring production data coming from various operational IT systems in support of decision making processes; use of production and quality reporting systems; headcount planning and verification; working hour controlling; project management; Microsoft Word (including Advanced Formatting, References and Citations, Track Changes and Collaboration, Mail Merge, Macros and Automation); Microsoft Excel (including Advanced Formulas and Functions, Data Analysis Tools, Visualization and Charting, Macros, Visual Basic for Applications, Data Management and Validation); Microsoft Power Point (including Advanced Animations and Transitions, Master Slides and Templates, Multimedia Integration, Design and Layout, Collaboration and Review, Custom Presentations and Sections);and Thinkcell (including Automated Chart Creation, Gantt Charts, Mekko (Marimekko) Charts, Waterfall Charts, Data Labels and Customization, Agenda Management, Chart-to-Slide Linking, Excel Integration, Smart Layout, Custom Chart Types etc.) to lead automotive manufacturing plant performance improvement through the analysis of Key Performance Indicators (KPI), data consolidation, and consultation with operational leadership and specialists to achieve headquarters-defined KPI targets. Perform headcount planning and verification by conducting analyzes of current staffing levels using historical data while considering the minimum required number of staff based on engineering planning and historical absenteeism rates (statistical prediction). Working hour controlling by implementation of advanced time tracking systems (e.g., Kronos or similar time keeping system) and regularly monitoring overtime with plausibility check. Manage absenteeism rate by tracking attendance data, analyzing patterns, and implementing strategies to reduce absenteeism. Conduct performance monitoring and reporting by establishing KPIs (i.e. HPV, continuously tracking employee productivity, and generating comprehensive reports to provide actionable insights for management, etc.). Optimize workforce utilization by efficiently allocating resources based on employee skills and availability as well as balancing workloads to ensure maximum operational efficiency. Promote transparency with official performance reports, foster a shared KPI understanding, and manage headcount/workforce planning and official request processes for the operation. Supervise and simulate the development of Hours per Vehicle (HPV) in ongoing operations to enhance awareness, trigger implementation of corrective measures for volume and working hour deviations by responsible parties and achieve the defined annual target. Provide transparency, particularly in HPV development, through planning, simulation, and forecasting, while leading strategic, complex projects to enhance plant productivity. Act as the plant's representative for workforce and productivity-related matters in coordination with the headquarters. Govern operational plant performance by analyzing relevant Key Performance Indicators through various IT systems. Establish transparency concerning performance trends and anomalies, enable timely consultations for the facilitation of decision-making by the relevant responsible parties or initiation of active escalation if the provided framework is not followed. Consolidate all relevant KPI data to report official operational results to headquarters in the specified reporting format, while actively engaging and overseeing KPI owners within organization. Provide consultation to leadership and specialists for calculation of KPIs in alignment with the established standards. Ensure that updates or revisions are communicated and documented in the KPI handbook and related reporting systems. Plan, steer, and oversee the corporate request management and approval process relating to headcount and workforce management for series operations and future projects involving operational changes, ensuring alignment with stakeholders, adherence to organizational standards and productivity targets set by the headquarters, communicating framework changes to the organization, and ensuring implementation. Coordinate with headquarters on efficiency and headcount targets, distributing these targets to the suborganizations in collaboration with responsible parties, and communicating the targets to stakeholders. Lead projects in collaboration with engineers and relevant stakeholders, applying Lean methods, Data Analytics, and Project Management to drive continuous improvement and achieve KPIs within specified timelines. Coordinate with department representatives to establish and uphold a standardized reporting structure in the digital shopfloor format, provide technical troubleshooting support, and create new forums or KPI groups as needed. Prepare simple explanations of complex operational and organizational conditions and challenges for diverse audiences on behalf of the plant management. Anticipate needs and deliver timely, relevant solutions and actions. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifikationen
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, manufacturing engineering, or a related field, plus five (5) years of experience in an automotive environment evidencing demonstrable ability to perform stated job duties. Continuous Improvement Manager or Lean Specialist or TPS or equivalent certification required. Formal Case study required to confirm skills with required Microsoft Office suite (incl. Word, Excel, Power Point, Thinkcell etc.), Productivity Development and Lean Knowledge. Domestic or international travel may be required up to 6% of time. New hires subject to drug test/background check. 40 hours per week with scheduled on-call rotations for after hours, weekend, and holiday support.
