Daycare staff are responsible for the overall care, teaching and supervision of preschool age children in the daycare setting. Duties include attending to their basic needs like feeding, toileting skills (including diapers if not toilet trained), providing learning activities, and maintaining a safe environment. Other skills include having a patient and compassionate demeanor that fosters students' development across areas of social-emotional and school readiness skills. Daycare staff also work closely with the Mercer Preschool Program to extend learning across programs. Knowledge of child development is preferred.
