What are the responsibilities and job description for the Preschool Support Teacher position at Mercer Creek Childcare?
HOURS
Hours given quarterly are based first on the needs of the center then your availability
Shifts may begin as early as 7:30 a.m. and end at 5:30 p.m.
REQUIREMENTS
High School diploma or equivalent (Required)
30 Hour Child Care Basics or 12 approved college early childhood education credits or willing to acquire (scholarships available) (Must obtain within the first 3 month)
Experience
1 years of experience working with children
1 years of experience working with children in a childcare setting (preferred)
Physical Demands / Work Environment
Center has high level of activity. Work may also be performed off site for field trips. Incumbent must be able to:
Lift 40 pounds
Stand up to 95% of the day
Must be able to sustain a high level of energy
Assume postures in low level positions that best allow physical and visual contact with children (i.e., stoop, sit or kneel on floor)
Bend to perform various tasks numerous times throughout the day
Perform all activities with children, i.e., jump, dance, walk, run, etc.
Required to be outdoors for regular, prolonged activities depending on the season
Be flexible and be able to respond quickly and appropriately to changing situations
Ability to handle a variety of issues on a daily basis and be engaged in multiple tasks

1. Provide instruction that is distinctly Christian, accessible, and promotes a diverse set of perspectives and norms.
2. Maintain a safe, inclusive, learning environment that celebrates each individual student.
3. Provide positive behavior support, manage classroom behaviors, and implement behavior plans when necessary.
4. Contribute to the school wide community by maintaining a positive attitude, praying for other staff members and students, fulfilling recess and lunch duties
5. Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of students with unique learning needs using flexible grouping.
6. Develop positive relationships with parents and students built on mutual respect and trust.
7. Maintain high expectations for all students regardless of their socio-economic background, race or ethnicity, family structure, or standard English proficiency
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: From $16.28 per hour
Expected hours: 10 – 30 per week
