What are the responsibilities and job description for the FT General Maintenance II position at Mercer Health?
Shift : 2 : 30 PM 11 : 00pm Status : Full-Time;10 shifts per biweekly pay period Weekends : Yes; every 9thweekend Holidays : Yes; Rotation On Call : Yes; every 9th week This position reports to the Director of Plant Operations.
Qualifications / Experience : High school graduate or equivalent.Evidence of successful completion of an accredited technical college program, vocational training program, or an apprenticeship program is preferred.
2 or more years work history as a multi crafted mechanic in HVAC, electrical, plumbing and carpentry or equivalent experience, preferably in a healthcare setting.
Responsibilities : Maintains the equipment, structure and service systems of the hospital and all of its facilities.Provides maintenance of the physical plant, buildings, grounds and other related equipment through installation, testing, repairing, and / or replacing equipment or components as appropriate.
All other duties as assigned.
Skill / Ability : Individual must be self-motivated with strong organizational skills, and a positive attitude.Must be highly skilled and able to perform the duties of other trades such as plumbing, electrical, HVAC, or carpentry / painting.Ability to organize and prioritize work assignments.Must be able to work with multiple interruptions and still concentrate, paying close attention to details at all times.
Must demonstrate ability to work both independently and as a team player, to exercise good judgment, and to successfully manage a variety / multi tasks.Required effective problem solving skills.Must have positive service oriented interpersonal and communication skills and work well in a team environment.Heavy Lifting and moving is involved with this position, weight of up to 80lbs.Must demonstrate effective communication with staff and managers
