We specialize in custom solutions that make up approximately 75% of our business. Our engineers work closely with each product from the initial design phase all the way through to installation, ensuring the highest quality and precision. We are proud to manufacture our entire line of expansion joints in the USA at our state-of-the-art facility on Long Island.
As a member of the Mercer Rubber engineering team, responsibilities will include:
- Design and develop custom rubber expansion joints to meet client specifications.
- Create and document detailed build specifications for custom expansion joints.
- Ensuring timely project completion, adhering to established deadlines and quality expectations.
- Draw accurate 3D models of custom joints based on client requirements and project needs.
- Collaborate with customers and sales team to provide technical support, ensuring proper application and implementation of expansion joints.
- Oversee and coordinate product testing to ensure performance, durability, and compliance with specifications.
- Work closely with our shop team to implement both existing and new designs.
- Assist in the operation and maintenance of CNC plasma equipment.
- Contribute to maintaining detailed quality control records to monitor product integrity and compliance with standards.
Job requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical Engineering preferred)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong attention to detail with exceptional organizational skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Proficient in Autodesk CAD Software (AutoCAD, Inventor, Revit)
- Practical experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus
- Willingness to travel to job sites and industry conferences
- Eagerness to learn and adapt in a dynamic work environment
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment
