Location: Mercer to Park Falls, WI
Hours: Approximately 4 hours per day (morning and afternoon routes)
Position Duration: Limited-term position ending on June 4, 2025
Pay: $15 - $20 per hour (based on qualifications and experience)
Job Summary:
The Mercer School District is seeking a responsible and dependable School Van Driver to provide safe and reliable transportation for a student with special needs. This role requires a compassionate and safety-conscious individual who will ensure a comfortable and secure ride for the student between Mercer and Park Falls using a district-provided vehicle. The driver will be responsible for both morning and afternoon transport, maintaining punctuality and professionalism at all times.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely transport a student with special needs to and from school following a designated route.
- Create a positive and supportive environment during transport.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, district policies, and transportation safety regulations.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure safety and cleanliness.
- Communicate effectively with school staff and parents regarding transportation matters.
- Assist the student with boarding and exiting the vehicle.
- Maintain accurate trip records, including mileage and transportation logs.
Qualifications:
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
- Prior experience working with children, particularly students with special needs (preferred).
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Excellent communication skills and reliability.
