Mercer Street Hospitality Group is seeking an events coordinator to join our team.

- A college degree or equivalent experience
- A minimum of two years experience working as events manager
- An unparalleled commitment to hospitality and customer service.
- Proven ability to motivate
- Sound knowledge of service and food.
- Ability to think critically and make sound decisions in a high-pressure work environment.
- High level organization and attention to detail
- Comfort with discussing pricing and negotiation
- Ability to multitask multiple events and multiple venues
- Clear and frequent communication skills
- Ability to be both flexible w clients but also staying firm within guidelines as much as possible
- Willingness to grow and learn.
Job Duties:
- Responding to client inquiries in very timely fashion
- Relaying pricing and menu space details to client
- Continuing conversation and answering questions for clients / negotiating price when necessary and appropriate
- Contracting events in triple seat
- Meeting departmental sales goals for events
- Accounting of all events confirmed and lost
- Confirming and fielding payment from client
- Planning events details w clients and gathering menu selections in timely fashion
- Serving as a primary communication point for all restaurant teams in relaying all necessary details, beo’s and calendar upkeep
- Confirming and finalizing events with clients before event date
- On site presence at events when necessary
- On-site presence at restaurant for site visits as necessary
- Following up after event w receipt
- Assisting Director of Events with administrative needs as necessary and special projects as needed.
