We are looking for a self-motivated, strategic, team player with experience in project estimating/quoting to work with our people, our manufacturers, and the area’s leading contractors and distributors to deliver top-quality products, technical support, and service. Major functions include, but are not limited to:
- Working in a team environment to analyze and bid jobs based on a tight timeline.
- Preparing budget estimates to meet clients' lighting/lighting controls needs.
- Problem solving while accurately utilizing, maintaining, and tracking project data.
- Developing mutually beneficial relationships with electrical and general contractors so Mercer Zimmerman is the agency of choice for lighting and controls products and services.
- Providing service and support to customers during design, construction, and post-project completion.
- Collaborating with internal team to and project management team.
- Partnering with Project Managers to create submittals and conduct pre-construction meetings.
- Conducting technical and product training in the territory or at our manufacturers’ facilities.
The ideal candidate for this job will:
- Construction industry knowledge and experience reading project documents, including drawings, schedules, and submittals.
- The ability to work on a strict timeline and meet deadlines.
- Exceptional negotiation skills with the ability to interact effectively with clients.

- Be an effective communicator – both written and verbal.

- Have proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office software.
Education and Experience
- A bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a related field is preferred, but not required.
- 3-5 years of related experience in the construction/electrical field is a plus.
