Reports to: Director of Strategic Initiatives
The Annual Giving Coordinator works closely with the Director of Strategic Initiatives to execute the plans for the Mercersburg Annual Fund. The primary responsibility is to coordinate annual fund communications. This position will also work closely with the Annual Giving officers concerning all communications and volunteer solicitation efforts.
Job Duties:
- Execute direct mail, social media, and digital solicitation plans.
- Coordinate all Annual Fund communications through the Advancement Communications Team.
- Support Annual Giving Officers with volunteer solicitation outreach.
- With support from the Advancement Communications Manager, create all marketing materials, appeal letters, online solicitations, pledge reminders, acknowledgment letters, etc.
- Write for school publications to promote Annual Fund priorities.
- Support special programs such as phone-a-thons, reunions, senior class gift, Educational Improvement Tax Credit Program (EITC), etc.
- Supports activities, initiatives, and events sponsored by the Office of Advancement and Alumni Relations as needed to help reach the office goal.

- A disciplined, results-oriented, self-starter, demonstrating initiative and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Persuasive communication skills in writing, in-person, and over the telephone.
- Outstanding listening and analytical skills.
- Strong presentation skills with the ability to be knowledgeable and articulate in stating Mercersburg Academy’s mission and vision, and the case for support of its priorities.
- Ability to appropriately manage highly confidential information.
- A creative, good-natured member of a team with demonstrated collaborative and proactive manners.
- Exceptional organization skills and attention to detail.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Two to three years of development/advancement experience. Transferable experiences will be considered.
- Flexibility to work weekends, early mornings, and evenings at various campus special events.
- Computer literacy (Microsoft Office Suite, Google Suite, electronic mail systems, internet, email, scheduling, and database software programs.)
