Merchant & Gould, one of the nation's premier intellectual property law firms, is seeking a Trademark Administrative Assistant. This position may be located in any of our office locations. The salary range for this position is $45,000 - 55,000, based on years of experience and geographical location.
Summary of position:Under the direct supervision of the Trademark Paralegals the Trademark Assistant is responsible for providing administrative support to the paralegals.
In order to perform one (1) or more essential functions of this role, a minimum of three (3) days in the office is required.

Responsibilities:
The primary responsibility will be to support the paralegals of the firm in the Trademark Department. Initial job responsibilities will include:
- Open new client matters
- Prepare cost estimates
- Review docketed matters for accuracy and communicate any discrepancies
- Draft initial emails for requirement filings to maintain registrations
- Manage invoices to foreign associates
- Prepare daily time entries
- Review “PLS Trademark Team” emails to determine the responsible paralegal
- Create reports and other special requests
- Review documents and communicates any discrepancies
- Complete assigned daily activities
- Follows written and verbal instructions
- Examine and review work for accuracy, neatness, and conformance to policies and processes
- May act as a backup to other members of the trademark group
- Work on various projects to assist with making sure client files are accurate
- Performs all other duties as assigned
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office products
- Strong analytical skills, strong attention to detail skills, and strong communication skills
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
- Ability to balance and track multiple projects with flexibility
- Regular attendance at work
