What are the responsibilities and job description for the Automotive Technician, Class B/C position at Merchants Auto?

What Your Day Will Look Like :

This position requires the ability to perform all under-carriage (steering, suspension, exhaust, tires, and brakes) without assistance and or guidance.

Additional capabilities will determine the appropriate Class level, such as the ability to perform most, or any / all repairs required to a vehicle with minor or bare minimum assistance and guidance from a "senior" technician, shop foreman and / or management when performing drivability and electrical diagnosis and repairs.

The Skills & Experience You Bring :

Levels of Experience and Accreditations :

Class B

Minimum of 3 years of experience as an Automotive Technician
Minimum of 3 current ASE Certifications (non-body repair)
State Inspection Certified

Class C

Minimum of 1 year of experience as an Automotive Technician

Minimum of 1 current ASE Certifications (non-body repair)

The Value You Deliver :

Strong communication skills

Have full mobility and the ability to work with your hands (lift up to 50 pounds, frequent standing and sitting)

Must maintain a minimum average production level (90-105% based on your Class level)

Must continue to keep a satisfactory driving record, as determined by Merchants, and remain eligible to be insured by the company's vehicle insurance carrier. Employee must cooperate in completing any required authorizations or paperwork for regular motor vehicle checks.

Must hold a valid U.S. driver's license and an acceptable driving record at time of hire.
