Description
The Tax and Escrow Analyst is responsible for the set up and maintenance of tax contracts for various loans within the Servicing portfolio. The Tax and Escrow Analyst will also perform escrow analyses to ensure sufficient collections on escrows. This position requires a detail-oriented, deadline-driven individual who can manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously. This position will have extensive internal and external customer interaction.
Expected Outcomes
Success in this position will produce a portfolio that ensures tax obligations are being met and sufficient escrows are collected to protect the assets of borrowers and investors.
Requirements
- Back up and/or assist Tax & Escrow Coordinator and their duties.
- Reviewing individual tax statements.
- Point of contact for tax questions both internally and externally for your portfolio.
- Onboard new loans to the servicing system and QC onboarding checklist.
- Process tax payments manually or via tax files from 3rd party vendor (DTR,CTR,XTR).
- Upload new loan report and parcel modification report from our 3rd party vendor to our servicing system (inventory report).
- Ability to manage assigned tasks and workload according to deadlines.
- Ability to adapt to changes and ability to prioritize/manage desk workload.
- Ability to show ownership of your work, take on challenges and acknowledge growth opportunities, and demonstrate patience when learning new processes.
- Other tasks as assigned.
Expected Experience, Skills and Education
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in real estate tax profession, preferably in multifamily loan administration.
- Requires problem solving skills as well as the initiative to troubleshoot and find resolutions.
- Requires excellent communication skills, written and oral, through all levels of the organization.
- Must possess strong organization skills with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
- Requires proficiency in computer software such as Microsoft Office; specifically Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution preferred with a focus on accounting, finance, and or real estate area.
