What are the responsibilities and job description for the Powder Coat Associate position at Merchants Metals LLC?
Description
Apply powder coat paint to a variety of parts.
- Load and unload paint line, monitor operations, make adjustments, and record operational data.
- Perform basic maintenance of equipment as required.
- Perform cleaning and color changes as required with the ability to avoid contamination.
- Inspect completed workpieces for defects as required to maintain quality standards.
- Assist others in all paint operations.
- Ensure safety guidelines are being met to assure a safe work environment.
- Inspect painted parts to engineering standards.
- Read work orders to determine specifications, such as materials to be used, dimensions and tolerances, proper labeling of parts, etc.
- Select and use a variety of lifting and rigging with overhead cranes to safely move materials.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must demonstrate an ability to follow written instructions
- Strong written and verbal communication skills as required to discuss training, general direction, and other operational related tasks
