What are the responsibilities and job description for the Customer Service Representative 1 position at Merchants National Bank?
Opens new accounts, refers, and cross-sells the company's products and services. Participates with branch management in maintaining a customer-focused environment and developing new ideas to increase business that will help achieve customer relationship objectives.
- Provide exceptional customer service.
- Opens new accounts for bank products and services and expands existing customer relationships through cross-selling or referring products and services to the appropriate areas.
- Assists customers in person or by phone with Bank products and services to develop new business and to retain or expand existing business.
- Maintain and balance cash drawer, balance and service automatic teller machine, and assist with night deposits.
- Works with branch management to implement activities to ensure branch profit goals are achieved.
- Assists the branch management team in coaching and training the teller staff to help develop skills and achieve branch sales goals. Works with branch Tellers on warm hand-off procedures.
- Assists branch personnel with operational duties and on Teller line as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
- High School Diploma, or equivalent.
- 2 years of experience in financial industry preferred.
- Ability to effectively utilize a computer and other standard office equipment.
- Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing.
- Must maintain a friendly, courteous and professional demeanor.
- Customer service and cash handling skills required.
