Merchants Insurance Group, a leading Property and Casualty Insurer in the Northeast, is looking for is looking for a highly motivated Internal Audit Intern interested in learning and applying their skills in a corporate capacity.
The Internal Audit Intern will be working directly with the Internal Audit Staff assisting in the testing and documentation of internal controls over financial reporting as part of the Model Audit Rule requirements.

Merchants offers its colleagues a Hybrid work schedule. The Hybrid work schedule requires 8 full days per month in the office, with the option to work the remaining days at home or in the office. Projects may include:
- Assist in the testing and documentation of internal controls over financial reporting as part of the Model Audit Rule requirements.
- Will assist in documenting functional internal control walk-through documents and identify key controls for evaluation.
- Audit documentation and testing as necessary.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Candidates should be pursuing Bachelor’s degree with a major in accounting, finance, or internal audit.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to problem solve.
- Proficiency in the Microsoft suite of products, especially Excel.
- An interest in pursuing a career with a property and casualty insurance company is desired.
- Full-time, paid internship starting May 2025 through August 2025 based on school schedule. A minimum commitment of 2-3 months is required.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work both independently and as a team in a hybrid work environment.
- Has a willingness to take on a diverse set of projects and deliver high quality work.
Merchants Insurance Group Pay information:
Merchants Insurance Group offers a competitive pay scale. The actual compensation will be determined based upon experience and other factors permitted by law. The pay range for this position is $17.00 an hour.
