The Electrical Engineer - Process Controls and Automation position is an onsite role and will be based in Savannah, GA.
Your Role:
EMD Electronics is looking for a skilled Electrical Engineer to serve as the Project Lead for Electrical, Automation, and Digitalization at our Savannah Site. This critical role will focus on enhancing our IT/OT integration efforts and will involve close collaboration with the Global Functional Team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and executing the IT/OT Assessment and implementing a comprehensive roadmap essential for modernizing Savannah's networks and establishing a robust framework for implementing our Going Digital programs.
Purpose:
The Electrical & Process Control Engineer will be responsible for implementing process instrumentation and controls to improve process transparency, reliability, quality, consistency, and efficiency. This engineer will coach and train operations, engineering, and maintenance personnel to enhance overall technical and operational knowledge in today's rapidly changing technical environment. All activities must be of high quality, driving towards state-of-the-art technology while maintaining infrastructure assets. The engineer will also uphold high standards for housekeeping, safety, and environmental compliance. They will drive operational excellence through continuous improvement, including CAPEX management, Best Practice Sharing (BPS), and sponsorship of Lean & Six Sigma projects. Additionally, the engineer will be accountable for the key performance indicators within their areas of responsibility.

Pay Range for this position: $108,600 to $163,000

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the assessment and roadmap development for IT/OT integration, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
- Implement process instrumentation and controls to enhance process transparency and efficiency.
- Coach and train operations, engineering, and maintenance personnel to improve technical and operational knowledge.
- Oversee control systems and instrumentation within the site, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental standards.
- Manage budgeting and cost management for various cost centers.
- Participate in CAPEX requirements for annual budgeting and 5-year planning, responsible for project management.
- Accountable for all activities within the area of responsibility, including production, maintenance, quality control & assurance, and HSSE (Health, Safety, Security, and Environmental) activities.
- Ensure documentation and compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), Management of Change (MOC), Notification of Change (NOC), Customer Complaints, and Corrective/Preventive Actions.
- Collaborate with local business partners to direct activities in production, procurement, and finance.
- Work with global counterparts to ensure harmonization and Best Practice Sharing (BPS).
- Drive innovation through operational excellence and continuous improvement initiatives.
Who You Are:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 5 years of experience in process control, automation or related engineering roles, with a strong understanding of control systems and instrumentation in industrial environments.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proven experience with IT/OT integration and digital transformation projects.
- Familiarity with Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.
- Strong project management skills, including budgeting and cost management.
- 7 years of experience in process control, automation, or related engineering roles, with a strong understanding of control systems and instrumentation in industrial environments.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks or projects simultaneously while demonstrating exceptional problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills, with a proven ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Commitment to safety, environmental compliance, and operational excellence, along with familiarity with industry best practices and a dedication to continuous improvement initiatives.
