Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral research fellow to join the Regulated Immunogenicity and Molecular Assay group within PCD BA at our compan. The successful candidate will initiate an independent research project to develop and implement new approaches to assess functional immune responses to vaccines. Different novel and alternate technologies will be evaluated to modernize and streamline the functional assays into one that could be of immediate benefit to the global vaccine programs. The expectation is that this work will open the possibilities for end-to-end modernization of current methods to redraw the vaccine functional assay landscape and bring about a game-changing impact across the industry with publications in high-tier scientific journals.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Designing and executing complex immunological assays with a focus on characterizing vaccine-specific functional immune response. Engage with peers and develop new internal and external collaborations to expand the group’s vaccine immune assay capabilities. Communicate results clearly with colleagues and the external scientific community through presentations and publications in leading peer-reviewed journals.
Education Minimum Requirement:
Candidates must currently hold a PhD OR receive a PhD no later than fall 2025, in life sciences - preferaby immunology, cell biology or microbiology, with fluency in immunological principles and infectious diseases
Required Experience and Skills:
Proficient in tissue culture, flow cytometry, multiplex assay platforms and assay development
Ability to work with viruses, bacteria and potentially infectious samples from humans and preclinical models (BSL-2)
Motivated to solve complex problems by undertaking innovative approaches and applying state-of-the-art technologies.
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Preferred Experience and Skills:
Ability to work independently, as well as collaboratively with peers within and across departments
Effective organizational and multi-tasking skills
Experience training and mentoring junior scientists
Working knowledge using standard data analysis tools such as Spotfire, FlowJo, Graph Pad Prism etc., and Microsoft Office programs.
